Last Toast

You lie at the door
and await your passage.
It is the light you seek,
and I wish you sunshine.

You lie at the door
to leave the life you’ve known,
and imperfections.
I wish you riches beyond belief.

You lie at the door,
a proud, but silent Irish man,
who blessed the world with word and deed.
I wish for angels to be at your side.

To your life, you’re true,
to many, a friend.
You’ve been a father and patron to all,
and I wish you blessings forever more.
