Lamentation

A Pantoum in Season

To whomever it may concern,

and for whatever it may be worth,

the signs of the times are all around us;

let all who have eyes and ears see and hear.

And for whatever it may be worth,

truth is truth, and must be told.

Let all who have eyes and ears see and hear

the un-funny comedy of our modern day.

Truth is truth, and must be told

we are being taken, and for fools.

The un-funny comedy of our modern day;

how is it we are so far gone?

We are being taken, and for fools;

the powerful abuse, betray our trust.

How is it we are so far gone?

Have we no sense?  No integrity?  No shame?

The powerful abuse, betray our trust;

the signs of the times are all around us.

Have we no sense?  No integrity?  No shame?

(to whomever it may concern).
